Roxanne Benatti Award:
DAEYC request its members to nominate parctioners in the Early Child Care and Education field who have made outstanding contributions to the profession. It is an award to recognize family and center caregivers, preschool and early elementary teachers and other active professionals such as therapist who deliver direct services to children.
The Criterion for the nominees are:
1.) Be nominated by a member of DAEYC.
2.) Be a provider of Direct Services to children 0-8 years old in a
professional early childhood setting for a minimum of 5 years.
To nominate an individual, please submit the following:
1.) Professional Statement: (less than 500 words).
Considerations: child and family advocacy, persuit of higher education,
committee and/or board service, etc.
How has the nominee uniquely contributed to the development and
success of the EEC profession?
How has the nominee demonstrated initiative within the ECC profession?
2.) Role Model Statement: (less than 500 words).
Considerations: Mentoring, high ethical standards, etc.
In what manner has the nominee served as a role model for others in the field of Early Childhood Education?
How has the nominee been a role model for his/her peers?
3.) Community Service Statement: (less than 500 words).
Considerations: Volunteer commitments to DAEYC and other professional early education and/or advocacy organizations.
Describe the organizations, dates of service, responsibilities, and significant contributions of the nominee.
Describe the manner in which the nominee shared his/her expertise with others.
4.) Outstanding achievements and or accomplishments (list in order of accomplishments starting with the most current).
Please do not be deterred from nominating an individual because of lack of information. Nominate a deserving peer with the information that you have. The entire nomination should be approximately 1 - 1 1/2 pages.
