T.E.A.C.H. Information
T.E.A.C.H. (Teacher Education and Compensation Helps) Early Childhood® is a national program which began in Delaware in 2004 in an effort to address critical issues in the Early Childhood field related to education, compensation and retention. T.E.A.C.H. provides a scholarship for tuition and books towards an Early Childhood Associate’s Degree or the Early Childhood Education Director's Certificate at Delaware Technical & Community College. Scholarships for the CDA (Child Development Associate Credential) are also available.
To assist with compensation, T.E.A.C.H. scholars receive a bonus from T.E.A.C.H. and from their sponsor (employer) at the successful completion of each annual contract. Scholars commit to stay employed with their sponsor for one year after every contract completed.
In October 2009, DAEYC was awarded the license to administer T.E.A.C.H. in Delaware.
