About DAEYC

The Delaware Association for the Education of Young Children (DAEYC), founded in 1969, is an association of early childhood professionals in Delaware.

DAEYC strives to promote national standards for quality and developmentally appropriate practice for early care and education, promote opportunities for professional development in early care and education programs, and promote current research and resources in early care and education fields. As an affiliate of National Association for the Education of Young Children, DAEYC is able to draw on their leadership, resources and knowledge to better serve our members and the state.

Our organization represents 330 DAEYC members throughout our state, and supports efforts to improve teaching and learning, build community awareness of the needs of children and their families, provide professional development, support accreditation and excellence in early childhood education programs. Membership is open to all individuals in Delaware who wish to serve and act on behalf of the needs, rights and well-being of all young children.
